FAITH DIRECT:
Our parish offers this program as a way for parishioners to support our parish offertory and second collections. This secure program works directly with your bank, or credit card company, in the same way as other electronic funds transfer systems you may already conduct (such as utility bills or your mortgage payment). All transactions are done electronically, debiting your bank account or charging your credit card automatically for the amount to which you have agreed in writing. For more information, or to enroll securely on line, visit www.faithdirect.net. Our parish code is MD30.

MEMORIAL & TRIBUTE GIFTS:
Memorial gifts offer a wonderful way to remember deceased family members and friends. Tribute gifts provide a meaningful way to honor living family members and friends, and to celebrate special occasions and anniversaries. Memorial and tribute gifts can be designated for one of the funds listed below. Before designating any memorial or tribute gifts, please contact Msgr. Essex to discuss details.

PIPE ORGAN FUND:
The Pipe Organ Fund was established several years ago by a generous donation from one of our parishioners. The plan for our new church calls for a pipe organ to be installed in the former choir loft.

MONSIGNOR CHRISTOPHER FUND:
Provides need-based scholarships to St. Jane Frances de Chantal School. The Msgr. Christopher Fund receives its regular source of funding from contributions to the Poor Box collections designated for it monthly. Additional donations increase the number of scholarships available.

ST. JANE FRANCES DE CHANTAL SCHOOL ENDOWMENT FUND:
Receives contributions, including but not limited to grants, donations, gifts and bequests used to keep tuition as reasonable as possible consistant with excellent quality.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY:
Provides emergency financial and other assistance to parishioners and parish neighbors in need, primarily through Giant food certificates. The St. Vincent de Paul Society receives its regular source of funding from contributions to the Poor Box collections designated for it monthly.

GIFTS OF STOCK:
Gifts of appreciated stock or mutual fund shares are one means, besides gifts of cash, of making contributions to our parish.

Gifts of stock can be made with your broker's assistance by electronic transfer. This process works for all publicly traded shares of stock. Simply request that your broker transfer the number of shares of stock you wish to give electronically to the St. Jane Frances de Chantal account at Merrill Lynch in Rockville, Maryland. The parish's primary account number is 84A-04438, the Pipe Organ Fund sub-account number is 84A-04472, and the DTC number is 5198. (DTC stands for Depository Trust Company and is the mechanism that enables the quick and easy, and safe, transfer of stocks among its members banks and borkerages.)

Any questions regarding the transfer can be directed to Jenny Lapowski at Merrill Lynch at 301-230-6621.

To assure proper credit of your gift, please notify the parish in writing, in advance, stating the number of shares and the name of the stock you are transferring.

If you have stock losses, sell the stock yourself to realize the loss and take the deduction for tax purposes. Then generate a charitable deduction by donating the cash proceeds of the sale to St. Jane Frances de Chantal Parish.

PLANNED GIVING:
For more information on ways to give (e.g., bequests and trusts) and what to give (e.g., life insurance and closely held stock) that will benefit both you and our parish, visit the Archdiocese of Washington website at www.adw.org, scroll over "Giving" at the top of the page, then click on "Planned Giving." You may also contact the Archdiocesan Office of Planned Giving at 301-853-4574.

ARCHDIOCESE OF WASHINGTON ARCHBISHOP'S APPEAL:
Gifts to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal support social service programs such as homeless shelters and food programs, provide aid to Catholic schools and tuition assistance for students to attend Catholic schools, fund special ministries and apostolates, and support outreach programs including Chaplains for campus ministries and hospitals. Priority is given those projects and programs not directly funded by parishes and to efforts serving people with the greatest needs, both physical and spiritual. Any questions regarding a pledge or gift to the Appeal should be directed to the Appeal Office at 301-853-5376 or development@adw.org.
