Children's Faith Formation is always searching for Catechists
“This endeavour to make Jesus known as supreme beauty leads us to find new signs and ways for the
transmission of the faith. In the creative endeavour to make Jesus known, we must not feel afraid
because He precedes us in that task. He is already in the man of today, and waits for us there."
Pope Francis letter for the International Symposium on Catechesis July 5, 2017
All adult volunteers (persons 18 years old and older) must successfully complete the
Child Protection Policy compliance process before volunteering in the Parish or School.
New volunteers must complete the following:
Create an account on VIRTUS.org and register for a Child Protection Training workshop.
Attend a Child Protection Training Workshop - submit a copy of the Attendance Certificate from the workshop and the signed Acknowledgement Page from the Child Protection Policy to our Parish Compliance Coordinator.
Make an appointment to see the coordinator to submit the Volunteer Application and show two forms of ID (driver's license, birth certificate, valid passport, social security card, visa, etc.). Bring with you the Workshop Certificate and the signed Acknowledgement Page.
During this appointment the volunteer will log onto a website where their background check will be completed electronically. This process takes about ten minutes and there may be a small fee.
Visit the Archdiocese of Washington Youth page for additional information.
For further assistance contact the Parish Compliance Coordinator available at 301-530-1550 or [email protected]
